Since 2002, France Grants Degrees on Work Experience

It is called in the VAE (Validation des Acquis de l"Experience) and is regulated by Article L-613-3 and following of the Educational Code of the French Republic. It mandates French universities to grant regular degrees on work life experience.

France granted its first Ph.D. through the VAE on 2008. So far more than 100 000 degrees were granted through the VAE.

France, like China, is a nation of great educational history dating from the Collège de Sorbon created in 1267.

Therefore the French degrees obtained through the VAE are recognized worldwide. US credential evaluators, such as AUAP Credential Evaluation Service and Credential Evaluation.org, recognise French VAE degrees for immigration University Admissions and licensing.

The école supérieure Robert de Sorbon®, a French registered institution with publication at the Journal Officiel

of the French Republic, may grant degrees as per Book VII Titlle III of the code de l'Education.

It has been granted the Trademark® by the French authorities.

It is the #1 leader in International VAE and had welcomed since 2004 students from more than 151+ countries.

So far the VAE can be done in 5 different languages: French, English, Spanish, Italian & Russian.

The following degrees could be granted through the VAE procedure:

  • Bachelor's Degree (UNESCO ISCED Level 6) obtained generally after 3 years regular  University studies

  • Master's degree (UNESCO-ISCED Level 7) obtained generally after 5 years of regular University studies.

  • Doctor of Philosophy - Ph.D. obtained generally after 8 years of University studies.

  • Post Doctorate Certificates & Degrees

in most  fields of study: Arts, Science, Humanities, Business, Health, Religion, Sport, etc.

France follows the "3,5,8" curriculum also known as "Bologna Declaration Process"  adopted by 46 European countries.

The VAE jury of the Ecole supérieure Robert de Sorbon® applies the following equivalence formula:

3 years of Validated Experience may be equal to one year of University studies.

Previous studies can be added to this equivalence. For example A Bachelor's degree can be granted after 9 (3X3) years of Validated Experience or through the combination of 1 year of University studies  + 6 years (2X3) of validated experience. The same calculation applies to the Master's or Ph.D. level.
